Wondering where to go and what to see on the beautiful island of Chalki? We have gathered here all the various attractions for you to get to know the history of the island and discover its hidden natural beauties . Some of the attractions worth visiting in Halki:
The Monastery of Agios Ioannis Alargas , where the biggest festival of Chalkis takes place on August 29 with singing and dancing until morning
The Monastery of Taxiarchi Michael of Palarniotis or Panormitis , with a breathtaking panoramic view
The church of Agios Nikolaos
The Castle of the Knights of Agios Ioannis , with a stunning view of the Carpathian Sea

Once you’ve toured the sights of Halki, don’t forget to do the following activities :
A walk to Niborio , the port and the only settlement of the island (also known as Emporio). The Town Hall stands out with its clock tower.
A visit to Chorio (Old Village), the old capital of the island which is now deserted. It is about 2.5 km from the port.
Activities in nature , as Halki has many beautiful paths. You can take the route to the Monastery of Taxiarchi Michael of Palarniotis, which starts from the port and passes through the Village. From there you can follow the path to Agios Georgios Ryakiou.
A day trip to Alimia , an islet between Halki and Rhodes that you can visit by boat departing from Niborio. Here you will swim on a wonderful beach with deep blue waters, you will see a lake with salt water and ruins from different eras!
